On March 26, CLC Malta celebrated World CLC Day, a celebration shared by CLC communities in more than 60 countries throughout the world. The programme had two parts. In the first part was dedicated to sharing experieces of CLC in other countries, particularly in Europe. The second part of the programme was the Mass which included the commitment of Jackie Padovani, Sarah Degaetano and Roberta Micallef.
This year is special in that it is the 50th anniversary of a landmark in CLC history: The 4th Assembly of the World Federation of Marian Congregations took place in Rome in October 1967. At this Assembly, the delegates approved the General Principles and adopted the name Christian Life Community. This marked a key step towards rediscovering Ignatian Spirituality and affirming the lay character of our community. We can take this as an opportunity to remember our own CLC journey as individuals and as a national community.
These international encounters are very enriching, both for the members present and for the National Community. This year will be marked by the participation of members of CLC Malta in meetings abroad related to family and forced migration, and CLC Malta will be hosting a European CLC youth formation course in August. The World Assembly of CLC will be held in the summer of next year, in Argentina. We thank the Lord for the many graces that they have received through the CLC Way of Life, and for their generosity in choosing to follow the Lord through this path. During mass there was a collection in aid of a recently arrived Syrian family from Aleppo.
